How Stroke affects the Brain & Body

How Stroke affects the Brain & Body

  • The brain controls the body and everything we do.
  • Different parts of the brain control different parts of the body
  • The brain has two halves, the left and the right
  • The left half of the brain works the right side of the body
  • The right half of the brain works the left side of the body
  • The brain controls how we move.
  • It also controls our thoughts, feelings and communication
  • Each half of the brain has slightly different "jobs"
  • For most people this is how the “jobs” are divided
